Abe is a tool for thinking through difficult conversations. People tell it things they have not told anyone. This page explains exactly what happens to that, in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

Who is responsible
Abe is operated by Raj Joshi, an individual, as the data controller.
For any question about your information, including a request to delete it, email abe.assist1857@gmail.com.
The short version
There is no account. Abe does not ask who you are, and there is nothing to sign in to.
Your conversations are stored on your own device, not on a server we control. There is no copy of them anywhere else.
What you write is sent to an AI service to generate a reply, and comes straight back. That is the one moment anything leaves your device, and it is what makes the conversation possible.
You can delete everything at any time, in one action, from inside the app.
What is stored, and where
All of the following is kept in storage belonging to the app on your own device. None of it is uploaded to a server operated by us, and none of it is tied to an identity.
- A first name, only if you choose to give one. It is optional and used to address you.
- Your conversations with Abe, including the full text of what you and Abe said.
- Summaries of those conversations, and any notes you write afterwards about what happened.
- The situations you are working on, with names you chose yourself.
- Lines from conversations you chose to keep.
- Settings, such as whether you prefer to speak or type.
Because it lives on your device, it goes when you delete it or when you remove the app, and it may be included in your own device backups, which are under your control rather than ours.
What leaves your device, and why
Generating a reply
For Abe to answer you, the text of your conversation is sent to Anthropic's API, which returns a reply. Anthropic processes it to produce that response. It is not used to train their models and it is not stored there as part of a profile about you. It carries no name, account, or identifier that links it back to you.
The same happens when Abe writes a summary at the end, and when you open the reflection screen, which sends recent conversations so patterns can be found across them.

Website analytics
The site uses Plausible Analytics to count visits. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track people across sites, and does not collect personal data. It records page views, rough country, and what kind of device. It cannot see anything you type into Abe.
Fonts
Typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the request. No conversation content is involved.
Speaking instead of typing
If you speak to Abe on an iPhone, your speech is turned into text by Apple's on-device recognition. The audio is processed on your phone and is not sent to us or to Apple's servers. Abe never records or keeps audio. Only the resulting text is used, exactly as if you had typed it.
Microphone access is asked for at the moment you first try to speak, and you can refuse and keep typing.
Notifications
Abe can send you a reminder about a situation you are working on. These are scheduled on your own device and no server is involved. You are asked before any permission is requested, and you can turn them off in your phone's settings.
Deleting everything
Open the menu, choose Privacy, and use Delete everything. That removes your name, every conversation, every situation, and everything else Abe has kept. It takes effect immediately.
Because nothing is stored on a server, there is no copy for us to delete on your behalf and nothing to recover afterwards. Removing the app has the same effect.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information, and to object to how it is handled.
In Abe's case most of these you can exercise yourself, because the information is on your device rather than ours. We hold no store of user conversations to search, correct, or hand over. If you want to raise something, email abe.assist1857@gmail.com.
Children
Abe is not intended for children under 13, and is not designed or marketed for them.
What Abe is not
Abe is not therapy, counselling, or medical advice, and it is not a crisis service. If you are in distress or at risk, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to your information, the date at the top will change and the updated version will appear here.
